It all started in the Bahamas in 2014, during our high school spring break. Though we grew up less than 30 minutes apart in Michigan, fate had us meet on a tropical island. We instantly connected, sharing laughs and quickly becoming friends. That connection has only grown stronger over the years.
On one of our first dates in Ann Arbor, we went to HopCat. We were both so nervous to see each other, but by pure coincidence, we ended up lifting all the tension by accidentally wearing matching colored shirts — a common occurrence for us! Everything felt so right, something neither of us had ever felt before. We made things “official” and started dating in 2017.
Traveling has always been a big part of our story. One of our favorite adventures was a road trip starting in Wisconsin and going through Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where we hiked to waterfalls and kayaked around Pictured Rocks—an experience we still talk about to this day. We also have a deep connection to the Wixson Woods in Lexington, traveling to Petoskey (i.e., the Whi-Ski Inn – those who know, know), and so many other amazing Michigan destinations. Our adventures continue to bring us closer together, but even with all the travel, we still make time to go to U of M football games, explore new local restaurants, or even just share a bottle of wine and separate bowls of popcorn at home.
Time has flown by, bringing us to 2023, when we got engaged in the Secret Garden on Mackinac Island. With the help of Michael’s sister, Lauren, and Christina’s brothers, Nick and Steven, an unforgettable memory was made. Afterward, we celebrated with a surprise party, surrounded by our closest family and friends.
Since getting engaged, our love has grown even more. Every day we realize we’re already living our happily ever after, in our home, with our two cats, Benji & Luna, and the wedding will set it all in stone. We’re so excited for our future together—filled with laughter, more wine, and endless adventures.
We can't wait to celebrate our love with you all on
